Stradun, Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik: still great in September

Zagreb is a little cooler

Whew. The summer madness is over, the weather is still warm but visitors are down to a more manageable level. In short, September is an ideal month to travel to Croatia.

The average monthly temperature in Zagreb is a pleasant 17°C (62°F) and in Dubrovnik the average is 21°C (70°F) .

Need day by day weather information? This fun tool graphs the daily temperature for any location and time period:

Input the place (i.e. Dubrovnik), the start date, end date and press "submit".

Yes, you can still swim off Croatia's beaches. Ferries are still on a summer schedule so it's easy to get around Croatia's islands and organised excursions are still going strong. Zagreb is back in business with clubs & pubs providing plenty of venues to show off the summer tan.

FESTIVALS

Zagreb Theatre Festival

Classic, modern and contemporary productions are aired during this festival. A handful of Croatian and European companies exhibit their latest interpretations in a number of venues around Zagreb.

Split Film Festival

Avant-garde filmmakers, experimentalists and visual radicals have a chance to shock, outrage, impress, inspire and entertain at this festival in the heart of Split.

Varazdin Baroque Evenings

Varazdin is a city of baroque architecture so naturally it provides a fine showplace for this festival of baroque music that lasts several weeks.
