Prvic island is inhabited mainly by fishermen and farmers even though its proximity to Vodice makes it easy to visit.There's not a lot to do on Prvic Island except relax and enjoy the gentle rhythms of island life. The northeast coastline is gentle but the southwestern end is more rugged. There are two villages: Luka and Sepurine. Prvic Luka, on the southern end of the island has a cove and a beach. The parish church dates from the 15th century and there's a Franciscan monastery built in 1461. On the northwest part of the island is Sepurine, founded in the 16th century by the inhabitants of Srima, a village on the mainland. The Church of St Helena is worth a look for its richly ornamented wooden Baroque altar. Accommodation on Prvic IslandThe only hotel on the island is the three-star Hotel Maestral in Prvic Luka. Formerly a schoolhouse, it's been beautifully restored. Getting to Prvic IslandIt's easy to reach Prvic Luka and Sepurine by way of the daily Jadrolinija ferries from Sibenik and Vodice.
