Minceta Tower

The most prominent part of Dubrovnik's walls is the rounded Minceta Tower where the walls are 6m thick, the better to protect Dubrovnik from attacks by land. The tower was built in 1464 and was once used to store water. It was named after the Mencetic family who probably contributed financial support to its construction.
