Staying in Gruz

The Gruz neighbourhood in Dubrovnik is one of the most convenient. (see Gruz on a map). The neighourhood is defined by its harbour which is the debarkation point of all ferries to Dubrovnik. If you're taking a bus to Dubrovnik you'll also be close to your Dubrovnik accommodation as the bus station is right nearby. 

Plus, you'll find stores, a market, car rental agencies and a tourist office lined up for your convenience right along the harbour. You could walk to Dubrovnik's Old Town but most people take one of the frequent local buses. You're also in a good place to take boat trips to the surrounding islands--Mljet, Elaphiti--as the boats leave from Gruz harbour.
